As soon as the train left the platform and cleared the outer limits of the station, all the lights came back on and stayed on. Everyone sat back with silly grins on their faces, knowing what idiots they must have looked. “Fancy getting scared by a li’l ole owl!”
Soon enough the whistle sounded again to announce that they were coming into the next stop along the line. “All those disembarking, please do so now” said the conductor. “We will only be a few moments here, we are running behind schedule and need to make up time” he added. While he was talking to the passengers, Steph came running through the carriage, decked out in her mother’s best white sheet. (She had even cut holes in it so she could see. I wouldn’t like to be her when her mother catches up with her.) “Trick or Treat”, “Trick or Treat”. “Come on folks collect your prizes now – I really need to get back indoors and into bed before mother comes home (What she didn’t tell you is that “mother” is one of the DSM witches) “Come on, hurry up and get out of here – you need to get to the next station. Mummy dearest will be home in 5 minutes”
Bye……
continue to the next station
